Booking Process

Bookings must be initiated in writing, either by email or by filling out the form on our website. You must provide your name, address, email address, phone number, the number of guests, and the arrival and departure dates when booking. We will confirm the booking within 24 hours, acknowledging the reservation of the guesthouse. The booking becomes final once the deposit specified in the invoice sent by the operators is paid.

The deposit must be paid within 72 hours of receiving the invoice, either by bank transfer or SZÉP card transfer. After receiving the payment, the operators of Ötbárány Guesthouse will issue a deposit receipt. If the deposit is not paid by the specified deadline, the booking will be canceled.

The deposit is 50% of the total accommodation fee if the booking is made more than 14 days before the start of the stay, and 75% if the booking is made within 14 days of the start of the stay. (The total accommodation fee is the number of booked days multiplied by the daily house rate.)

The deposit must be paid in HUF. The remaining balance of the accommodation fee must be paid no later than 3 days before the stay, by bank transfer or SZÉP card transfer.

Please be informed that according to the current legislation, from September 1, 2021, in Hungary, the personal data specified by law of every guest using accommodation services must be recorded by the accommodation provider via a document reader and transferred to a closed database called VIZA.

To record the data, the guest using the accommodation service must present their personal ID, driver’s license, or travel document to the accommodation provider. If the document is not presented, the accommodation provider will refuse to provide the service. By law, the accommodation provider is entitled to request the guest’s ID, and the guest is obliged to present it. 

 

By booking, guests acknowledge and accept the house rules as binding.

Booking Modification

Modification by the Customer:

Modification of the booking is possible in writing based on prior agreement.

The number of guests can be modified up to 2 days before arrival. The date can be modified once for finalized and confirmed bookings, depending on availability. In this case, the deposit can be used within 1 year from the original arrival date. The modified confirmation becomes valid.

Modification by Ötbárány Guesthouse:

The operators reserve the right to modify the booking. Unforeseen technical problems (pipe bursts, water-sewage-electricity issues, and other unexpected, unforeseen tragedies, natural disasters, damage caused by previous guests, etc.) may hinder the stay. The operators will notify the customer immediately upon learning of the problem. If the issue cannot be resolved by the arrival date, another date will be offered with price adjustment. If this or the offered date is not suitable for the customer, the full deposit will be refunded.

Cancellation Policy

The reserved guesthouse service can be canceled in writing.

The cancellation fees are as follows:

Free cancellation within 36 hours of receiving the invoice and on the 30th day or earlier before the start of the stay.

Between 29-14 days before the start of the stay: 50% of the deposit.

Between 0-13 days before the start of the stay: 100% of the deposit.

In the case of early departure or cancellation on-site, 100% of the confirmed amount for the entire booked period must be paid.

In case of cancellation, the operators will refund the amount reduced by the cancellation fee within 8 business days of receiving the cancellation.

If the deposit was paid via SZÉP card, only the amount reduced by the current bank fee will be refunded.
