About Us

Our guesthouse is located in a beautifully situated, historically significant village in Zala County, on the main street of Bezeréd.

Bezeréd is nestled in the hills of Zala, in the heart of the Transdanubian region, 220 km from Budapest and only 30 km from Lake Balaton. The area offers thermal baths, hiking trails, and numerous attractions for visitors. Notable nearby destinations include Keszthely, Gyenesdiás, Hévíz, Kehidakustány, Zalacsány, and Zalaegerszeg, all reachable within a half-hour drive from Bezeréd.

The Ötbárány Guesthouse is a traditional cob-walled old building located on the main street of the village. Our original intention was preservation, as the house was nearly collapsed in 2019. Eventually, we dared to dream big: in 2024, through a Széchenyi loan, it underwent reconstruction and renovation, now shining in its full glory once again. During the renovation, we aimed to preserve the original atmosphere of the house while meeting modern comfort standards.

Sustainability is important to us, which is why we encourage our guests to participate in selective waste collection and use eco-friendly cleaning products. Eco-friendly cleaning products are provided.

The independent guesthouse is suitable for accommodating 6 people in its 56 square meters. Upon entering from the porch, you arrive in the kitchen, from which the bathroom and two bedrooms are accessible. The smaller bedroom contains two 90*200 cm beds, while the larger bedroom features a double bed and a sofa bed that can be converted into a double bed.

Upon request, we provide a baby cot and baby-friendly equipment (high chair, baby bathtub, etc.).

Each room is equipped with individually controlled heating-cooling air conditioning units to ensure constant comfort. The kitchenette is equipped with a dishwasher and a hob, while the bathroom features a shower cabin and a washing machine for guests' convenience. In the larger bedroom, there is a two-person infrared sauna.

The courtyard of the house accommodates the former stable and barn, a fireplace area, and even a pigsty. Inside the covered barn, there is a ping-pong table available for guests. In the immediate vicinity of the house, in an idyllic environment on a 7500 square meter grassy-park area, sheep, lambs, and cows graze. Our newly built animal shelter is strategically placed so that guests can easily observe the animals from their own terrace.

Whether you seek the shores of Lake Balaton, Zalacsány, Kehida, Sümeg, Őrség, or Hévíz, none are more than half an hour away by car. But if you prefer peace and tranquility, if you want to wake up to the chirping of forest birds in the morning, spend the day watching sheep, calves, and cows from the terrace, and enjoy the stars in the evening... then come visit us in Bezeréd, at the Ötbárány Guesthouse!
